Richard Scott Goldthwaite II, age 79, of Lake Bluff, IL passed away on December 27, 2024.
He was born February 7, 1945, in New York, NY to duVal Radford Goldthwaite and Mary (nee Stringfellow) Goldthwaite.
Richard shared 40 years and a lifetime of love with his wife, Carol Goldthwaite. He dearly loved his family and spent many happy hours in Wolfeboro, NH at the family cottage, and at Still Point Farm in WI with his daughter Penny, son-In-law Phil, and grandson Will. Although a city boy from Chicago, once he and Carol moved to Lake Bluff – he never looked back. He kept the home humming, wine cellar stocked, and the spices alphabetized. He could talk football as well as recipes. His wit was sharp and his humor “dry”. He happily and consistently marched to the beat of his own drummer to the delight and sometimes surprise of all who loved him.
