Salons by JC of Highland Park Hosts Free Evening of Pampering, Food and Wine

In recognition of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Salons by JC of Highland Park, located at 229 Skokie Valley Road in Crossroads Shopping Center, is hosting “Winter is Coming,” on October 24th from 6-9 p.m. to benefit A Safe Place, a leading advocate for eliminating domestic violence in northern Illinois. One in every 4 women will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. This free event is open to the community and is a fun and unique opportunity to aid a worthy cause.

Independent salon owners and beauty professionals will open their suites to provide many complimentary beauty services for men and women such as: hair styling, massages, eyelash tinting, eyebrow/lip wax, make-up consultations and more.

Along with appetizers and wine, attendees will receive swag bags (for the first 50 guests), free raffles, experience Chinese face readings by Marla Goldberg Energy Healer Au Fait and peruse pop up stores featuring apparel, anti-aging skin care products and other unique items available for purchase. The evening continues with music and mini presentations from beauty experts with tips on how to protect your hair, skin and body for Chicago’s inevitably harsh winters.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a new or unopened beauty item(s) to donate to A Safe Place that evening

and throughout the month.

Being brave is beautiful and with your help survivors will feel beautiful inside and out,” says Pat Davenport, CEO of A Safe Place. “We rarely receive beauty products as donations and are so grateful to Salons by JC of Highland Park for their support in helping to brighten the lives of women who are survivors of domestic violence.”
