Steep Price Tag for School Reorganization Prompts D112 to Skip 2015 Referendum
The board wants more time to deliberate. The next possible referendum date would be March 2016.

With cost estimates for a “once in-a-generation” school reorganization coming in between $219 million and $397 million, District 112 said this week it will not pursue an April referendum on borrowing to fund the project, according to an article in the Highland Park News. The next chance to hold a referendum vote is the March 2016 presidential primary.
The reorganization scenario that currently seems most popular among school officials involves creating a middle school campus in southwest Highland Park and building two new schools there, the article says.
