Thieves Snatch Converters at Hospital Parking Lot

Theft From Motor Vehicle

Police are investigating a delayed report of a theft from motor vehicle made Wednesday. Two vehicles parked in a parking lot in the 700 block of Park Avenue West had their catalytic converters stolen sometime between 2:30 p.m. and 5:55 p.m., according to Highland Park Police reports.

Celio Mendez, 42, of Highland Park was arrested Nov. 5 and charged with retail theft after police responded to a report of a subject shoplifting at a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Roa, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Nov. 27 in Park City.

Adalberto Gomez, 44, of Wheeling was arrested Wednesday and charged with driving while license suspended, driving without headlights illuminated and uninsured motor vehicle after being stopped by police in the 1000 block of Central Avenue, according to Highland Park Police reports. He was released on bond and is scheduled to appear in Lake County Court Nov. 27 in Park City.
