Zumba Instructor Melissa Kerpel Receives Highland Park Award

Melissa Kerpel, a Highland Park resident and Zumba instructor, was recently honored with a Character Counts Award by the City of Highland Park and the Park District of Highland Park. The award recognizes individuals whose actions exemplify the values of kindness, generosity, and commitment to community.

Kerpel has been teaching Zumba since 2009, offering fun, inclusive classes at the Recreation Center of Highland Park. She also teaches at the Glencoe Park District and online through KMworkout.com. Her classes are known for welcoming people of all ages and abilities, fostering a strong sense of connection and wellness throughout the North Shore.
