Few Violent Crimes Reported in Hinsdale, CH in 2014: FBI Report

The FBI recently released its annual ”Crime in the United States” report, which shows violent crimes are pretty low in Hinsdale

According to the report, Hinsdale saw only one violent crime in 2014, while in 2013, the village had two reports of violent crimes.

In Clarendon Hills, there were three violent crime reports in 2014 and none in 2013.

Violent crime includes offenses involving force or the threat of force: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, according to the FBI.

Of the violent and non-violent crimes reported in 2014 in Hinsdale, there were:

• 0 murders and non-negligent manslaughters
• 0 rapes
• 0 robberies
• 1 aggravated assaults
• 176 property crimes
• 19 burglaries
• 152 reports of larceny/theft

Nationally, violent crime decreased last year by 0.2 percent from 2013, according to the report.
