Hinsdale D181 Beats State Class Size Average

HINSDALE, IL – Most years, Hinsdale School District 181 has smaller average class sizes than the state as a whole.

Last school year, the average size was 19, compared with the state's 21, according to the Illinois Report Card website. The local district was ahead of the state for eight of the last dozen years.

In 2021, the local district's average class size dropped to an unusually low 15, beating the state's 20.

According to the Illinois Report Card, research shows that students in lower grades demonstrate the potential for higher achievement scores when they are enrolled in smaller classes.
