Hinsdale D86 May Settle With Employee

HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale High School District 86 board is poised to settle with an employee Thursday, according to its meeting agenda.
The agenda indicates the settlement amount is $48,000.
The board does not identify the employee or the reason for the agreement.

Last year, Hinsdale South's former band director, Kirk Hickman, received a $60,000 settlement. In a federal lawsuit, he alleged violations of the Americans With Disabilities Act and the Illinois Human Rights Act.
In 2023, former teacher's aide Candace Robbins settled a federal lawsuit for $20,000. She claimed age discrimination during the pandemic.
The same year, the district settled with former teacher Brett Malas for $72,000. Malas, who resigned in 2015, alleged the district discriminated and retaliated against him.
