Hinsdale Embarks On Traffic Studies Around Town
The village is set to do the work in "manageable bites," a village trustee said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale plans to conduct neighborhood traffic studies, a project that will be done in "manageable bites," an official said Tuesday.
"We do hear requests for a safer downtown, and we think it's time for us to have this type of study," Trustee Michelle Fisher said at a Village Board meeting. "It's going to be divided up into zones. We're going to do one zone at a time, so we can properly analyze and address each area."
The idea is to look at a neighborhood entirely, rather than on a spot basis. Elmhurst is doing something similar.

"The zones will be prioritized by where the heaviest traffic congestion and heaviest pedestrian usage are, like downtown and areas contiguous to downtown," Village President Tom Cauley said. "Later in the study, it will be areas that have lesser traffic and lesser pedestrian (usage)."
Among those areas are routes to schools, other officials said.
