Hinsdale Man Accused Of Domestic Battery At House: Cops

In another case, a woman's wallet was stolen while she was shopping at a Hinsdale store, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest weekly blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Domestic battery

  • A 39-year-old Hinsdale man who lives in the 900 block of South Monroe Street was arrested about 12:30 a.m. New Year's Eve on charges of domestic battery, violation of an order of protection and interference with the reporting of domestic violence. Police said he "made contact of an insulting or provoking nature" with a family member at his house. The man was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Theft

  • A woman told police that her wallet was stolen between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Sunday while she was shopping at Whole Foods, 500 E. Ogden Ave. She reported fraudulent charges on the credit cards in her stolen wallet. The case is pending.
  • The driver of a U-Haul truck pumped $119 worth of gas without paying about 2:30 a.m. New Year's Eve at Shell gas station, 210 E. Ogden Ave.

DUI

  • A 24-year-old Countryside man was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol and speeding. He submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. Police said he had an open container of alcohol. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
