Why Hinsdale Central Dean Got Extra $48k

HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale Central High School employee is receiving an extra $48,000 as part of a settlement with the school district.
On Thursday, the school board voted unanimously to settle with Kimm Dever, Central's director of deans. She started at the school two decades ago.
After the vote, board President Catherine Greenspon said it was the district's goal to treat employees fairly and compensate them equitably.

"We are thankful that an error related to compensation was brought to our attention, allowing us to address the matter appropriately," Greenspon said. "We appreciate the opportunity to correct this issue."
She did not identify the error.

For the last couple of years, Dever has received a salary of $159,764.
Patch has filed a public records request for the settlement.
