100+ Women Who Care of Will County donate $15,000 to Team Nicholas
100+ Women Who Care of Will County had their "Big Check" presentation to Team Nicholas

On October 29th, 2025 members of 100+ Women Who Care of Will County had their “big check” presentation donating $15,000 to Team Nicholas. Joanna Veghts, founder of Team Nicholas, was presented the checks by members of 100+ Women Who Care of Will County. The giving circle's $10,000 contribution was supplemented by a 50% matching gift from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, for a total of $15,000.
Team Nicholas is committed to bringing comfort, joy and smiles to kids battling cancer and critical illnesses throughout the Chicagoland area. Team Nicholas focuses on making days brighter for children and their families in the hospital. Whether they are battling pediatric cancer or a long term critical illness, we know that they are still a child and their family is facing a tough time. Team Nicholas saw a need for donations at local children's hospitals during the entire year and not just holidays! They provide wish list items like Legos, arts and crafts, toys, and games all year long.
“Team Nicholas is honored to be awarded this donation from 100+ Women Who Care and we will support local families with sick children with these funds. This money helps, as we have just added another hospital, Silver Cross, to our list and we will be making quarterly donations to them as well!” said Joanna.

100+ Women Who Care of Will County is happy to be donating to Team Nicholas and the local hospitals. 100+ Women Who Care of Will County is designed to make an immediate and positive impact on the lives of our community. We are women who are interested in supporting our neighbors by contributing to local charities together as a group.
At each of the quarterly meetings members nominate charities, three are chosen at random, and after a brief presentation, the members vote on which charity to support. Once the winning charity is announced, everyone writes a $100 check, on the spot directly to that charity. All charities nominated must be located in, and serve Will County and must have 501(c)(3) non-profit status.
