2 Lockport Men Jailed For Robbing Couple Outside Crest Hill Home: Cops

A third man escaped and remains at large, police said.

The cops caught a pair of armed robbers after chasing them from Joliet to Lockport, but a third member of the crew escaped on foot, police said.

Justin Summlion, 27, and Clarence Knight, 23, both of Lockport, were captured early Thursday morning near Dellwood Park.

A Crest Hill couple had pulled up to their home on Raynor Avenue near Kelly Avenue about 2 a.m. Thursday and were unloading their car when Summlion and Knight — both armed with handguns — approached them, police said.

The bandits ordered the couple to get on the ground, police said, and then snatched away the man’s wallet, the woman’s purse and iPad, and both of their cell phones. The couple stood up again after they heard a car pull away.

The Crest Hill police reportedly pinged one of the stolen cell phones and it turned out to be near the McDonald’s on Cass Street in Joliet. The Joliet cops located the crooks in a parked car and chased them to Lockport, police said, ultimately apprehending two of the three men who were in the vehicle.
