36 Citations Issued During Holiday Enforcement In Lockport: Police

Lockport PD conducted "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over," "Drive High. Get a DUI." and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns during the holidays.

LOCKPORT, IL — This past holiday season, Lockport Police Department teamed up with the Illinois Department of Transportation and law enforcement agencies statewide for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High. Get a DUI.” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns, the department shared in a release.

From Dec. 12 through Jan. 5, Lockport officers focused on removing impaired drivers from the road and ensuring that motorists were properly buckled, the department said.

During the enforcement, Lockport Police issued citations for:

  • 9 for speeding
  • 13 for seat belt violations
  • 1 distracted driving
  • 13 other traffic offenses

The holiday enforcement campaign was administered by IDOT with federal highway safety funds managed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and is part of Illinois’ “It’s Not a Game” statewide media outreach program, according to the news release.
