Annual Roadwork, Water Main Work Starts In Lockport

LOCKPORT, IL — Summer road construction work is in full swing, and the 2025 Roadway Reconstruction and Water Main Replacement Project will start this week in Lockport.

The City said the work is part of the ongoing rehabilitation of Lockport’s Historic District.

Work will take place on 11th Street from State Street and Garfield Street, and on Hamilton Street from 12th Street to 11th, according to the City. The project includes water main and service replacements, sanitary sewer repairs, storm sewer upgrades, and full roadway reconstruction and widening. The reconstructed roadway will feature new curb and gutter, asphalt pavement and sidewalks.
