LOCKPORT, IL — Construction will soon begin on Ninth Street in Lockport, as part of an Illinois Department of Transportation improvement project, according to the City.

The improvement project will begin on April 17, along Ninth Street from just west of Canal Street to just east of Read Street, the City said on its website.

Due to recent improvements, IDOT will omit the roadway section between Canal Street and Hamilton Street, as well as the section between Lincoln Street and 700 feet west of Read Street for an upcoming Roadway Channelization Project.
