Homer Glen Board Appoints Robert Schaller As Trustee

Schaller will fill the position for the remaining term, which will end in May 2027.

HOMER GLEN, IL — At a special meeting on Monday, the Homer Glen Village Board approved the appointment of Robert Schaller to fill a vacant Trustee position.

Schaller will fill the position for the remaining term, which will end in May 2027.

"We went through an extensive interview process with multiple candidates," Trustee Curtis Mason said. "I think Robert is going to be a welcome asset to the team."

Schaller currently works as a real estate agent, but has previously had a career in law enforcement. He started with the Willowbrook Police Department in 1995, eventually serving as Chief of Police for the department from 2018 to 2023 before he retired, according to Board documents.

In his statement of interest for the position, Schaller wrote that, "As a dedicated resident of Homer Glen for over twelve years, I am eager to serve our community in this capacity. With 28 years of experience as a law enforcement professional, including five years as Chief of Police for the Willowbrook Police Department, I bring a unique blend of leadership, technical expertise, and interpersonal skills that align with the qualifications and expectations for this role."
