Lockport Chamber, Heritage Corridor Business Alliance Recognize CITGO

WILL COUNTY, IL — CITGO Lemont Refinery was honored with business of the year awards by local Chambers in both Homer Glen and Lockport, according to a news release. The refinery, located in Lemont, is approaching its 100-year anniversary and has a long history of supporting nearby communities.

The refinery received a large business of the year award from the Heritage Corridor Business Alliance, and a business of the year award from the Lockport Chamber of Commerce, according to a news release.

CITGO received five awards in 2022 in recognition of its community involvement, setting a record for most community awards received in a year, according to a news release. The refinery also received the Large Business of the Year Award from the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry; the Business of the Year Award from the Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce, and the Partners in Excellence Award from the Joliet Junior College Foundation, which CITGO supports through the CITGO STEM Endowment Fund for students in technical fields

“We are proud of the positive, active role we take in our community and were honored to be recognized by so many partners last year,” Jim Cristman, CITGO Lemont Vice President and General Manager, said in a release. “CITGO continues to be committed to helping the local economy stay strong, not only through providing quality products, but also through the hardworking people who refine, market, and transport them.”

Last year, the refinery also gave a $25,000 grant and helped build a home in the Fairmont neighborhood in Lockport Township through Will County Habitat for Humanity.
