Lockport Girls Basketball Team Advances To First Round Of Sectionals
The team earned its first regional championship since 2018.
LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township High School girls basketball team has advanced to the first round of sectional competition.
On Thursday, Lockport defeated Tinley Park's Andrew, 54-29, to earn the first regional championship since 2018 for the program. Also, earlier in regional competition, Lockport defeated Joliet Central, 57-23.
Next up, the Porters will face Lincoln-Way West High School at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25, according to IHSA. The winner of the first round of sectionals will head to the sectional championship, against the winner of Chicago's Marist and Sandburg.

The Class 4A state final tournament will kick off on March 7 at CEFCU Arena at Illinois State University in Normal.
