Lockport Township High School Cheerleading Team Heads To State Finals

The reigning state champions, the team will compete at state finals this weekend.

LOCKPORT, IL — The reigning state champs, the Lockport Township High School cheerleading team, has once again advanced to the IHSA state finals.

Lockport was the sectional champion at the Bradley-Bourbonnais High School sectional, with a score of 97.37, according to IHSA.

Lincoln-Way East took second with a score of 97.33, Lincoln-Way Central took third (96.83), Andrew took fourth (90.33) and Downers Grove North High School was fifth (88.23). The top five teams at each sectional competition advance to the state finals.

Lockport were the state champions in the co-ed division in 2021, and the large division champions in 2022, according to IHSA.

The state finals will be held Feb. 3-4 at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington.
