LTHS Girls Bowling Takes Home Third Consecutive State Championship

The team came out on top of the leaderboard with a score of 11,975 during the state final tournament Feb. 17-18 in Rockford.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Township High School girls bowling team has won the 2023 IHSA state championship.

This is the third state championship in a row for the girls bowling team, which took first in 2020, 2022 and 2023. No competition was held during the 2020-21 school year, according to IHSA.

The team came out on top of the leaderboard with a score of 11,975 during the state final tournament Feb. 17-18 in Rockford.

Second-place Joliet West had a score of 11,942, and Harlem High School took third with a score of 11,878, according to IHSA.

Lockport bowler Morgan LiCausi also took second place as an individual, with a score of 2,691.

Lockport has long had a successful bowling program, including in the past 10 years. The team took second in the 2016-2017 school year, and earned yet another state championship in the 2014-2015 school year, according to IHSA.
