One of the drivers was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.

LOCKPORT, IL — The Ninth Street bridge is back open Monday morning after a crash briefly closed the bridge, according to Lockport Police.

As of 7:40 a.m. Monday, police said the bridge would be closed for the next hour.

Deputy Chief Ron Huff told Patch that there was a "rear-end type crash" between two vehicles on the bridge.

One of the drivers had minor injuries and was taken to Silver Cross Hospital by the Lockport Township Fire Protection District, Huff said.

"Both vehicles needed to be towed, so the bridge had to be closed until they were removed," he added.
