Semi-Truck Drives Off 159th Street In Lockport: Cops
Police said the initial crash investigation on Tuesday morning revealed the driver of the truck may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
LOCKPORT, IL — No one was injured after a semi-truck drove off the road on 159th Street in Lockport, Lockport Police told Patch.
Police said the initial crash investigation on Tuesday morning revealed the driver of the truck may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing the truck to drive off the road. The driver was the only occupant, and was not injured.
A utility pole was struck by the truck; however, there was "minimal impact" to traffic, as the road was opened once it was found that there was no danger that the pole would fall into the road, according to police.

Efforts to remove the truck are still ongoing, as both ComEd and Comcast have been consulted as to how to remove the truck without disrupting power and internet to the area, police said.
