Oak Prairie Cheer Team Places Ninth At State Finals
Lockport placed ninth in the small team routine with a score of 81.95.
LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport's Oak Prairie Junior High cheer team placed ninth in the small team routine at IESA state finals.
The cheerleading state finals were held on Wednesday in Peoria.
The team from Oak Prairie competed in the small team routine, which is for teams with 5 to 12 members. According to IESA, New Berlin Junior High School was the state champion for the small team routine.

Lockport placed ninth with a score of 81.95, beating out 10th-place Germantown Hills (score of 81.88), according to the IESA website.
The program at Oak Prairie is familiar with the state final competition; the team placed second in 2022 and sixth in 2020.
