Frances Jean Zielinski, passed away peacefully at the age of 89, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Joliet, IL. Born on March 30, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Gene and Louise McGinty, Frances was raised in Ashland, Wisconsin, under the loving care of her aunt, Ellen McGinty, following the loss of her parents. She graduated from Ashland High School and carried the values of hard work, kindness, and family throughout her life.

A longtime parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church, Frances was a woman of faith whose spirit was rooted in compassion. She found joy in simple pleasures, especially reading and doing puzzles. She lived a life centered on family and was always a source of support and encouragement to those around her.
Frances is survived by her children, Deborah (Mike) Sibrava, Kathleen Turner, Timothy (Donna) Zielinski, Laura (Carl) Witek, Susan (Daniel) Olsen, Robert (Bridget) Zielinski, Jeffery Zielinski, and Christopher (Sabrina) Zielinski; grandchildren, Erin, Alex, Matthew, Sara, Michelle, Samantha, Ryan, Joseph, Marisa, Brianna, Cian, Lyla, Liam, Tony, Kim, Jaclyn, Jason, and Megan; and her great-grandson, Niko. Her extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins will also remember her with fondness and gratitude.

She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Chester T. Zielinski; her parents; her aunt, Ellen McGinty; and her siblings, Donald McGinty, Gene McGinty, Bob McGinty, and Billy McGinty.
Funeral Services for Frances Jean Zielinski will be held at 9:15 a.m., on Friday, November 14, 2025, from the Fred. C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, to Holy Family Catholic Church, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.
