What is so wrong with being a Democrat?

Facing the lies and deceit of so-called Republicans.

If you were a Trump supporter in 2016, you most likely had to keep that to yourself lest you be attacked, verbally or otherwise. If you were a Republican on a college campus in 2020, you most likely didn’t want to advertise that information for the same reason. The 2024 election proved to be a little more forgiving for the Republican label. Now, instead of getting the usual ad hominem attacks, one might get a slight stink-eye, or no reaction at all. The point here is that it is once again somewhat safe to state your political affiliation with the conservative party of Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, and yes, even Donald Trump.

The Democrats, on the other hand, never really had a negative stigma attached to their name. In fact, there is a sense of pride behind the statement, “I am a lifelong Democrat.” So why would a left-of-center candidate running for local elections call themselves a Republican? Seems counterintuitive, like going to Soldier Field wearing a Packers jersey and a giant foam block of cheese on your head and trying to convince the home team crowd that you are really a Bears fan. You would be dismissed as a fraud and a joker. In the case of the local elections, however, the joke is on the voter.

What’s wrong with being a Democrat? If you want to get elected in a right-leaning town like Homer Glen or Lockport, which typically vote Republican, you might not win. Therefore, you must lie.

This deception may be immoral, but it’s perfectly legal. A ruse is defined as a clever attempt to deceive. In this case, the deception is not so clever if you do a spot of research. Take the “Homer Township Reset” for example. This slate is an organized effort to take over the entire township and road district, but why? No answer is given. For what purpose? No answer is given. A reset from what? To what? Well, Dorothy, let’s pull back the curtain and find out what the wizard is up to.

The Homer Reset slate is funded and supported by Homer Township United, a political action committee whose stated purpose is “to support Homer Township candidates.” What kind of candidates? Democrats, of course, although no political party is mentioned. Homer Township United is run by Democrats such as Ellen Moriarty, the far-left activist who is left of Mao. My point is that these are not middle-of-the-road political partners; they are hardcore Democrats. So why the ambiguous deception? Why not state for the record, “We are proud Democrats”? Are they ashamed? Not at all. If you ever had the misfortune of witnessing a Township meeting where Ellen and her gang attended, you would see hardcore, in-your-face leftist hatred; hatred for anything the Township board stands for, hatred for the good.

Other so-called Republicans running for local office are also supported by Democratic money. The mayor of Homer Glen (funded and supported by Democrats) identified herself in a Tribune article as a fiscal conservative, but arguably spent more taxpayer money in her first year than any mayor in Homer history. Christina Neitzke-Troike is the wizard behind the curtain, pulling the levers for the Homer Township United PAC. One of Christina’s hand-picked puppets, Craig Carlson, posted a sample ballot where he thrust his support behind Sheri Boniecki-Cooling for the Will County Board. Why is this important? Sheri Cooling is so far left she would make Joseph Stalin blush.

Homer Township is currently controlled by actual fiscal conservatives who favor balanced budgets, spending cuts, tax cuts, want to decrease the size of government, and promote a free market. Every member of the current Township board is a Will County Freedom Caucus member. So why would anyone want to “reset” that? The answer is power—pure, unchallenged power. Power for whom? Christina’s power, of course. Yes, the mayor of Homer Glen wants to control everything—the village, the township, the road district—everything.

What’s wrong with being a Democrat? Nothing. Democrats are running for office all the time; they just run as Republicans. Why? For the purpose of controlling the Village, the Township, and the road district, and to abdicate all that control to one corrupt, narcissistic person: Christina Neitzke-Troike, the Liz Cheney of Homer Glen. Why should you care? If it’s not bad enough that you’re being lied to, maybe you’ll care when your property taxes go up by 20% in the next two years. Maybe you’ll care when your unincorporated area gets annexed by the village, like Orland Park is doing right now. Link. You may care when it’s too late. And when it is too late, ask yourself, “How did I fall for these liars?” You may respond with, “Because I didn’t pay attention.”
