2 Men Shot Thursday Afternoon In Flossmoor, Police Say

According to officials, one man was shot in the torso and taken to a hospital while the other was shot in the arm and had minor injuries.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — Two men were shot Thursday afternoon in Flossmoor, officials said.

According to police, officers received a call shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday that took them to the intersection of Travers and Vardon lanes where a caller reported hearing shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found one man with a gunshot wound to the "upper torso" and another with an injury to his arm, police announced in a written statement.

The man shot in the torso was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where his condition is unknown. The man shot in the arm was treated at the scene by paramedics. Police did not immediately say how the shooting began or if either man shot the other.

Illinois State Police took two cars from the scene and will be assisting in the investigation. Flossmoor police are asking all residents who live in the area to review security footage or share tips with the Flossmoor Investigations Division.
