5 Retail Thefts At Homewood Menards In September: Police

Over $2,000 worth of items were stolen on Sept. 17 alone, according to police.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A quick look at recent retail thefts made in the Homewood area, provided by the Homewood Police Department in the month of September.

These charges are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

  • Around 3:55 p.m. Jonathan Green, 29, of the 400 block of Lincoln Highway, Chicago Heights, snuck past the exit of the Homewood Menards, without paying for items that total to a retail value of $458, according to police. He was charged with retail theft.

  • Just after 9 a.m., Green returned to Menards, taking items with a total retail value of $179 without paying, and walked through the exit, police said. Green resisted a police officer, fled on foot from officers, and was later apprehended near the business, according to police. He was charged with retail theft.
  • Around 5:30 p.m., police said Terry Bell, 40, of the 1600 block of Bestor, Peoria, managed to get past the exit of Menards without paying for retail items that total $79.97, police said. According to police, Bell resisted a peace officer and fled on foot, before he was apprehended across the street from the store and ultimately being charged with retail theft.

  • Just after 11 a.m., police said Joshanda Clark, 40, of the 500 block Glenwood Lansing Road, Glenwood, committed retail theft at Menards, leaving with items with a retail value of $2,094, police said. During her arrest, Clark gave authorities a fake name, according to police.

  • Around 4:30 p.m., police said Kyree Toney, 25, of the 13900 block of School Street, Riverdale, committed retail theft at Menards, taking items with a retail value of $91.91, police said. Toney was charged with retail theft.
