Homewood Man Dies After Being Pulled from Lake
Homewood Fire Department has issued a press release with more detail on the dive rescue earlier this evening.

We are sad to announce that Willian Kasper, 59, of Homewood was pronounced dead earlier today at 4:58 p.m., according to Chicago Tribune reports. Additional independent Patch sources have verified the report.

The current status of an unnamed 59-year-old man is unknown after firefighters pulled him out from ten feet of ice covered water at Izaak Walton preserve earlier this evening, according to a press release from the .
It is currently unknown what the man was doing at the pond, but responding firefighters said they discovered a hat, cane, articles of clothing and a loose dog near the area.

A dive team was called to the scene but two Homewood firefighters managed to locate the man and pull him ashore before they arrived, according to the press release. The fire department said they immediately began resuscitation and advance life support efforts on the unconscious man. There was no mention whether the efforts were successful or not—only that the man was transported to Ingalls Hospital in Harvey, according to the release.
