Masked Man Robs Homewood Bank, Flees On Foot: Police
The robbery took place at First Savings Bank of Hegewisch Friday afternoon, police said.
HOMEWOOD, IL — Homewood police and the FBI are investigating after a masked man robbed a bank in Homewood Friday afternoon.
Witnesses said the man implied he was armed and demanded money from a teller at First Savings Bank of Hegewisch, 18200 S. Halsted St., just after 2 p.m., police said.
Witnesses told police the male suspect fled the scene westbound on foot. No one was injured during the incident. James Hart School was placed on a temporary lockdown during the incident as a precaution, due to the school's proximity.

The Homewood Police Detective Division is assisting the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) with the investigation.
