'Cabaret Night' Fundraiser To Benefit Spotlight Performance Academy

Live performances and music, dancing, raffle, silent auction and more set for Saturday, Feb. 8 at FCC Community House.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — A local performing arts academy is ready to put on a show, to support its members' pursuit of the spotlight.

Cabaret Night, held by The Spotlight Performance Academy, is set for Saturday, Feb. 8, and will feature live singing and entertainment by the Academy's artists, along with dancing and a raffle—all with a "Great Gatsby" vibe.

The academy's founder and Executive Director Carrie Bonanotte will perform with friends, giving the audience the thrill of classic cabaret pieces and musical theater numbers that will have fans "laughing, crying, and everything in between.

"The night is sure to end with a full dance floor as we switch over to party mode playing all of your favorite tunes," organizers said.

The Spotlight Performance Academy is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to providing high quality performing arts education to children and adults in the south suburbs of Chicago. They "seek to strengthen community through the arts for people of all ability levels, confident in the power of music and performance to help us all recognize our shared humanity."

The event is sponsored by the Jody and Karl Nurse Charitable Fund. With their generosity, every penny earned at this event benefits the Academy, organizers said.

The Academy also thanks supporters Ron Wexler, Hoekstra Heating and Air Conditioning, All Sing Karaoke, and Teased and Diffused for their contributions to this event.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Free babysitting services are offered on-site.

The event is set for Saturday, Feb. 8, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at FCC Community House, 847 Hutchison Road, Flossmoor. Tickets are $65 and can be purchased online.
