Voices Speak Out on H-F Patch

. So far, it seems our readers aren't too pleased:

  • "Can Metra finally retire the 50 year old train cars on the electric line? I think we pay enough now not to have to put up with leaky cars or ones with heaters/ac that dont work properly. When they do roll out the new cars, can Metra outfit them with some wifi? You know, like they do in modern industrialized nations. Fay, your absolutely right about the pre-tax benefit, it goes to show you that Congress has no desire to support public transportation. As usual, their priorities are backwards."
  • : "I agree with SouthSider - it's ridiculous that Metra levies the 30% fare increase evenly across all lines, when the Electric Line running through the South Suburbs gets absolute bottom-of-the-barrel treatment in terms of quality of stations and trains, as well as station and train upkeep. Fares (and fare increases) should track the treatment and service that Metra provides to riders on any given train line. If Metra wants to continue to treat the South Side and South Suburbs with utter contempt relative to its other lines, then fares on the Electric Line should be correspondingly lower. At least riders on the other lines are paying more for more - we on the Electric Line are now paying more for LESS."
  • : "The Metra staff that works for the Electric District is highly incompetent and disrespectful towards their riders. Most Conductors deliberately talk over clearly understandable automatic announcements with incomprehensible blabbering. And personnel who routinely send out trains with the wrong on-board announcements. I have take trips on other Metra lines and this kind of behavior by staff simply does not happen. Perhaps Metra is sending the Electric District it's worst employees.'"

  •  rated  2 stars: “This place was pretty good when it first opened, they were customer friendly and the food was good. The last two times I have been there the service wasn't very good and the food wasn't terrific either. I was also pretty disappointed that even though we ordered two entrees for two people we had to each order extra side dishes of rice because the amount of rice you are given isn't enough for even half the entree. Half of the entree was sauce which can be good except if you have nothing to eat it with. Took so long to get the extra rice everything was cold. Seems pretty stingy to me that you can't supply your customers enough rice with the meal. Even Eat Rices carry out meals (at half the price and just as good) give you twice the amount of rice. The server seemed preoccupied and didn't even bring the tea we ordered. The place was not busy either. too bad, I think it could be a great place if there was a good customer oriented manager there.”
  •  rated  5 stars: “Fantastic skillets, omelets, pancakes... BIG portions! The staff is so friendly and attentive!”
