Firefighter Hurt In Flossmoor House Blaze

A dog was killed and 4 people were displaced by the New Year's morning fire.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — A firefighter was hurt battling a blaze New Year's morning at a Flossmoor home that killed a dog and displaced four people, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Four cars also were destroyed by the fire, the report added.

The fire happened around 10:15 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, at a home in the 1800 block of Oak Lane Road, the repot stated. The firefighter was taken to an area hospital after he was hurt when his foot became caught between rungs on a ladder, the report added.

The blaze left two adults and two kids without a home, the Sun-Times reports. Besides the firefighter, no one else was injured in the fire, the report added.
