Flossmoor Advances In 'Strongest Town' Contest, Takes On NY Town
Flossmoor now competes against Saranac Lake, New York, for a chance to advance into the Final Four.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — Get your voting fingers ready, Flossmoor. Your town has advanced to the Elite Eight of the "Strongest Town" contest, with voting now open to help it into the next round.
On Monday, voting opened in the second round of the Strongest Town Contest, where Flossmoor, goes up against Saranac Lake, New York. Voting will be open to an international audience until Thursday, March 30, at 1 p.m. Central Time. In this round, eight towns are facing off, and four will advance to the next segment of the contest based on your votes.
Flossmoor won the first round of the contest against South Bend, Indiana by winning over 70 percent of voters. For the Elite Eight round of the competition, Strong Towns will publish photo essays from participating communities, inviting millions of people to take a virtual tour through each town. The photos "demonstrate the strength and resilience of their town or city."

After exploring each place, readers will cast their vote to decide whether Flossmoor or Saranac Lake should advance to the Final Four. If Flossmoor wins the contest, the community will be the feature of a professionally produced film, and Strong Towns will fly a representative to the National Gathering, a townmaking conference, to receive the award.
You may vote once per match-up. Round 2 voting closes at noon Central on Thursday, March 30.
