Flossmoor, Army Corps To Break Ground On Berry Lane Drainage Project
Officials said the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is hosting a groundbreaking event May 5 on the long-awaited, multi-million dollar project.
FLOSSMOOR, IL — Construction for the Berry Lane drainage improvement project, a long anticipated update that aims to reduce flooding in the area, will start next week.
Officials told Patch the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a groundbreaking Thursday, May 5, at the corner of Berry Lane and Bob-O-Link Road for all interested residents.
The board voted to approve the project at a meeting in December of 2020, but supply chain issues and setbacks due to COVID-19 delayed the groundbreaking. The total cost for the venture is over $2.2 million, with the corps covering $1.5 million of the expenses through a grant awarded to the village.
