Village To Hold Open House On Next Phase Of Flossmoor Road Project

The event is set for Thursday, May 8.

FLOSSMOOR, IL — Flossmoor officials will hold an open house for residents seeking information on the next phase of Flossmoor Road drainage improvements.

Phase 3 of the Flossmoor Road Viaduct Drainage Improvements Project — by contractor Airy’s, Inc., with construction engineering by Baxter & Woodman — includes the installation of a large-scale storm sewer on Lawrence Crescent from the newly constructed Heather Hill Elementary School detention basin to the existing storm sewer on Maryland Avenue. The approximate project schedule is:

  • Utility Location Work: Mid-May
  • Construction Begins: June 2
  • Substantial Completion: August 15
  • Final Completion: October 31

Residents of Flossmoor’s Heather Hill neighborhood can expect increased truck traffic and road detours during the project. Those who live on Lawrence Crescent will have access to their driveways most of the time, except when the storm sewer is being installed in front of their home, which should not last more than one day.
