Football: H-F's Second-Half Surge Makes for Memorable Senior Night
Homewood-Flossmoor 56, Joliet West 19: The Vikings get it done thanks to a stellar showing from Sheldon Brown and other seniors in their final home game of the regular season.
Breaking It Down: On Senior Night, for the last regular-season home game of the year, provided its fans with plenty to cheer about. H-F rolled to a resounding 56-19 victory over Joliet West on Friday. The Vikings jumped out to a quick 21-0 lead before the Tigers clawed their way back in the game with a kickoff return for a touchdown and a fumble recovery for a touchdown, cutting H-F’s lead to 21-13 at the half. H-F senior Sheldon Jones wasn't about to let Joliet West ruin his fellow seniors’ night. Jones scored twice in the second half—on an interception and on a screen pass from quarterback Tim Williams in the third quarter—to put the game out of reach. The Vikings added two scores in the fourth quarter.
Patch’s MVP: Sheldon Jones, Homewood-Flossmoor. The super senior who never comes off the field made sure his Senior Night was memorable. Jones scored running the ball, receiving the ball and on an interception. Plus, he added a 69-yard return after a fumble recovery in the third quarter.
Homewood-Flossmoor Stat Pack: Anfernee Roberts carried the ball 12 times for 110 yards and a touchdown. Tim Williams threw for 113 yards and three touchdowns. H-F's starting defense shut out the opposing offense for the 14th consecutive quarter.

Joliet West Stat Pack: Kameron Hargrove had an 83-yard kickoff return touchdown. Matthew Koran returned a fumble 75 yards for a touchdown. Korey Rodgers had a 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

What’s Next: H-F hits the road next Friday for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff at Sandburg High School in Orland Park. Joliet West welcomes Lincoln-Way East to Joliet at noon on Saturday, Oct. 22.
