Glenwood Academy Calls For Runners, Donations: Chicago Marathon
Glenwood Academy is looking to fill slots for its Gazelles Running Team for this year's Chicago Marathon, taking place Oct. 10.

GLENWOOD, IL — Glenwood Academy is looking to fill slots for its Glenwood Gazelles Running Team, in the Chicago Marathon this fall.
The 43rd annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021. In order to participate as a member of the Gazelles running team, runners have to register by Feb. 1.

- A guaranteed spot in the Chicago Marathon
- Waiver of the $205 registration fee
- A discounted training program with virtual and group options available
- Fundraising tips and support throughout training
- A prize for the top fundraiser.
"Glenwood Academy is honored to once again be chosen as a charity partner of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon," said Mary Hollie, President and CEO, Glenwood Academy.
Hollie added, "By being a part of the Glenwood Academy running team, participants are not only assured an enormous amount of support in achieving their goals, but they are also changing the lives of future generations. Funds raised through our running team will help to enable Glenwood Academy in providing a second-to-none education for our students, and to ensure that we are able to continue to provide support to our families."

According to the academy, runners are asked to raise a minimum of $1,750 for the Glenwood Gazelles Team, with all money raised going to Glenwood Academy. To register, runners must contact Nora Sheahan at nsheahan@glenwoodacademy.org
Glenwood Academy is a school that offers an educational environment for more than 150 students from grades 2-8, with a high school option at local partner schools. According to the school, nearly all students live below or at the poverty line. Glenwood Academy is almost fully funded by fundraising, including events, private donors and sponsors, the school said.
