Gun Charge For Homewood Man After Traffic Stop: Homewood PD

The man was stopped Dec. 27 for driving with one headlight, Homewood police said.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A Homewood man faces a gun charge after a Dec. 27 traffic stop.

Police stopped a car with one headlight in the 1900 block of 183rd Street around 3 a.m. The officer reportedly spotted drug paraphernalia in the car. When asked, the driver said he also had a loaded gun under his front seat.

The driver Matthew Hommer, 23, had a valid FOID card but not a Concealed Carry License to have the loaded handgun.

Hommer was charged with one misdemeanor charge of unlawful use of a weapon.
