Gun Found On Driver In Crash On Halsted, Cops Say

Homewood police said the 33-year-old from Hazel Crest did not have a valid concealed carry license.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A gun was found illegally on a driver involved in a crash in Homewood earlier this week, according to police. Police arrested Clayton Friend, 33, of Hazel Crest around 2 p.m. on June 10 after a crash occurred in the 17600 block of South Halsted Street.

According to police, Friend was "in possession" of a gun without the required concealed carry license. He was charged with operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, driving while license suspended/revoked and unlawful use of a weapon.
