H-F Patch Celebrates 1st Anniversary

I was very nervous one year ago today.

I feel like it was nervousness akin to a paratrooper preparing to jump into battle. And for all intents and purposes, that’s sort of what happened.

In a frenzied swarm of pre-launch meetings, story writing and directory building, H-F Patch emerged in cyberspace one year ago. I’m still in disbelief that it even got off the ground. What’s harder to believe, however, is just how far H-F Patch has come since its humble origins.

Since launch, I’ve had the unique privilege to see H-F Patch slowly integrate itself within the community. Reciprocally, I’ve watched as the H-F community has helped shape the trajectory and function of the site that truly belongs to them. I’ve also had the unique privilege to get to meet and know the largest concentration of wonderful and inspirational people I’ve ever come across.

My vision for H-F Patch and its connecting capability is far from realized, but looking back on our first year gives me enormous hope and optimism for what lies ahead in this ongoing experiment.

So, from the bottom of my heart, I want to offer the most sincere thank you I can muster to the communities of and and to all of the people who help make this such a great place in the world to be. I’m honored to be able to serve as your editor.
