Hit-And-Run Accident With Pickup Truck Injures Bicyclist

Homewood police are trying to identify the truck's driver, who fled the scene of Wednesday's incident.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A bicyclist was hospitalized after he was hit by a pickup trick Wednesday in Homewood, according to the Daily Southtown. The man did not suffer life-threatening injuries, and Homewood police are asking for help in identifying the truck's driver, the report added.

According to police, the victim was hit at around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, as he was cycling west on 183rd Street near Western Avenue, the report stated. The truck didn't stop after striking the cyclist, the report added.

Police described the vehicle in the hit-and-run accident as a light-colored, two-door, Ford truck, the report stated. The truck also was missing the rearview mirror on its passenger side, the report added.
