Homewood, D153 To Host Touch-A-Truck To Kick Off School Year
The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 in the Village Hall parking lot.

HOMEWOOD, IL — The Village of Homewood and School District 153 will host the inaugural Truckin’ Into the School Year event on Saturday, Aug. 26 from noon to 4 p.m. The touch-a-truck event will be held in the Village Hall parking lot, located at 2020 Chestnut Rd. The event will feature police vehicles, fire vehicles, public work vehicles, giant kid-friendly games, a DJ spinning kid-friendly music, a rock climbing wall, a balloon twister, face painter, yoga for kids, and food trucks selling snacks and refreshments.
Community resources will be available for those looking for more information about organizations within School District 153. Such resources include 23 Miles South Theater, Culver’s of Homewood, Foundation 153, Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and NW Indiana, H-F Chronicle, H-F High School, H-F Park District, H-F Youth Football and Cheer Club, Homewood Parent Music Association, Homewood Parent Teacher Association, Homewood Public Library, Homewood Science Center, Serendipity Yoga and Wellness, South Suburban Vineyard Church, and You Matter 2.
