Homewood To Hold Parklet Gathering Saturday
A parklet is a gathering space that is normally in a parallel parking spot in a downtown area. Residents can come hangout this weekend.
HOMEWOOD, IL — The Village of Homewood is encouraging residents to come and hangout in the downtown area this Saturday.
According to the village, The Mainstreet Organization of Realtors Young Professionals Network chosen downtown Homewood as one of three locations it is hosting a temporary one-day parklet.
The village said a parklet is a gathering space that is normally in a parallel parking spot in a downtown area. The space is supposed to be a place for residents to gather, socialize, relax and hang out.

According to the village, the network chose Homewood because it felt that Homewood has the "perfect downtown set up for a parklet."
The parklet will be set up from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday in two parking spaces on the east side of Martin Avenue, south of Ridge Road, according to the village.
