HOMEWOOD, IL — The Village of Homewood has launched an online form to enable residents to report damaged caused by the EF-1 tornado that touched down there on July 15.

The online form is available via the Village's website, and will collect responses until July 31.

Homewood is working with the Cook County Emergency Management and Regional Security organization to compile a report on property damage to help determine eligibility for FEMA Public Assistance, which is designed to reimburse local communities for actions taken to mitigate a disaster, officials said Wednesday.

The report will also help determine if FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) individual loan assistance or SBA (Small Business Administration) disaster loans are available to residents and business owners. An online form has been created for residents to report property damage to be included in that report, the Village said.

"Completing this form does not guarantee that assistance will be provided at this time," the Village stressed, "but will help the Village complete the initial necessary report."
