Homewood Rubber Ducky Scavenger Hunt On Ahead Of National Night Out
Rubber duckies will be placed around Homewood. Find them and bring them to National Night Out for prizes.
HOMEWOOD, IL — It's duck hunt time, Homewood!
This weekend kicks-off a rubber ducky scavenger hunt in downtown Homewood.
Thirty-seven rubber duckies with all of the Village of Homewood's sworn officer badge numbers will be hiding in downtown Homewood. Participants are invited to find a police officer's rubber ducky hiding in Homewood and bring it to National Night Out to pick a prize.

Find the Police Chief's rubber ducky (marked #400) and bring it to National Night Out to win a special prize. The contest is open to all Homewood residents beginning Friday, July 28 and ends on Tuesday, August 1 at 8 p.m. If you find a ducky, hang on to it until National Night Out
The National Night Out event will be held on Tuesday, August 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Irwin Park Gazebo. Meet the officers of the Homewood Police Department, view the vehicles, and participate with the officers in various kid-friendly games.

There will be a face painter and a balloon artist available, as well. Attendees can watch the UCAN helicopter land in Irwin Park at approximately 5 p.m., and meet the medical team.
National Night Out is a nationwide event that “promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer,” according to the National Association of Town Watch, the organization that founded the annual early August event in 1984.
