Local Police Chiefs Appointed To Law Enforcement Standards Board
Gov. J.B. Pritzker has appointed the police chiefs in Hazel Crest and Richton Park to the Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
SPRINGFIELD, IL — Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced Monday five appointments to the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board, including Richton Park Police Department Chief Elivia Williams and Village Of Hazel Crest Chief of Police Mitchell Davis.
In a news release, Pritzker announced the five new members of the 18-person board, who according to the state's website, administer, regulate, and certify all local police officers' training programs in Illinois. When asked if the governor has appointed any of the current members of the ILETSB board or any of its staff members before Monday's announcement, his spokeswoman Jordan Abudayyeh told Patch that these five are the first appointments the governor has made to the board, and added that per statute, the board employs the executive director and other necessary staff.

The two south suburban police chiefs will join the other three new members of the board: Ricardo Pagán, undersheriff, McHenry County Sheriff's Office; Ghida Neukirch, city manager for the city of Highland Park and LaDon Reynolds, Police Chief Oak Park Police Department.
Williams has been in law enforcement since 1987 and before becoming chief in Richton Park was the police chief in Maywood.

Davis has been in law enforcement for 29 years and a police chief for 11 of them. He is president of the South Suburban Association of Chiefs of Police.
