Man Fought With Cops, Broke Officer's Radio: Homewood Police
Police said the 21-year-old refused to be put in handcuffs and fought officers when they insisted he wear them.

HOMEWOOD, IL — A Glenwood man broke a police officer's radio while fighting with officers last month, Homewood police said.
According to police, 21-year-old Amar Smith was being arrested on April 27 at around 11 a.m. for a previous incident when Smith refused to be put in handcuffs. Officers insisted, and Smith began to fight with them. During the struggle, one officer's radio was broken.
Smith is facing two charges of battery, resisting a peace officer and criminal damage to property.
