HOMEWOOD, IL — A 78-year-old man who was found inside a burning house Wednesday night died from stab wounds, authorities said.The man, James Kerrigan, was found after firefighters extinguished the blaze inside the home at the 1000 block of 185th Street. He lived on the same block, authorities said.He was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. Thursday, the Sun-Times reported. His <a href="https://chicago.suntimes.com/crime/homewood-homcide/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">death from multiple sharp force injuries</a> was ruled a homicide.Anyone with information is asked to call Homewood detectives at 708-206-3420. An investigation is ongoing.
