The incident happened the evening of Aug. 2.
HOMEWOOD, IL — A Country Club Hills man faces charges for aggravated assault and battery after a confrontation with a convenience store clerk earlier this month, officials said.
Walter Turner, 61, of the 17700 block of Pheasant Lane was at a 7-Eleven in the 3100 block of W. 183rd Street, when police say he began arguing with the store clerk. Turner then allegedly "slapped the store clerk in the forehead with an open hand," according to police reports.
When the clerk walked towards Turner, police said he pulled a handgun from his waistband and
approached the victim in a threatening manner.
